01

Which breast procedure may be right for you?

The procedure depends on the main change you are looking for. This guide explains the differences; the final recommendation follows an evaluation of your anatomy and goals.

Augmentation

For additional volume or to restore volume lost after breastfeeding.

Breast lift

To reposition breasts that have descended, without necessarily changing their size.

Lift with implants

To lift the breasts while restoring or adding volume.

Reduction

For larger breasts that may cause back, neck or shoulder discomfort.

02

Breast augmentation

Augmentation increases volume with breast implants. Implant type and size, placement and incision location are selected individually. Planning also considers body mass index, smoking, diabetes and the surgical approach.

03

Breast lift

Mastopexy repositions the breast and nipple–areola complex when there is sagging (ptosis), without necessarily changing volume. It may be combined with an implant when increased size is also desired.

04

Breast reduction

Reduction removes skin and glandular tissue when breast size causes discomfort. In addition to reshaping the breast, it may help relieve back, neck and shoulder symptoms.

05

Silicone implants

Filled with cohesive silicone gel, these often feel more like natural breast tissue. A rupture may not cause an immediate visible change, so long-term specialist follow-up is important.

06

Saline implants

These contain sterile salt water. They are inserted empty and filled during surgery, which may allow a smaller incision in some cases. If a rupture occurs, the body absorbs the saline and deflation is usually noticeable. They may feel less natural than silicone implants.

07

Choosing an implant

No implant is best for every patient. The consultation considers the desired feel, existing breast tissue, implant placement, incision location and preferences regarding monitoring and rupture detection.

08

Confirming the plan in consultation

The doctor assesses areola position, skin quantity and quality, current volume and your goals. This determines the technique and, when appropriate, implant type, size, placement and incision location.

09

Who may be a candidate?

Candidacy is confirmed after reviewing medical history, anatomy, skin quality and personal goals.

  • Fully developed breasts and stable weight.
  • A clear goal: augmentation, lift, reduction or a combination.
  • Good general health and no smoking, or stopping as directed in advance.
  • Realistic expectations about shape, scars and long-term maintenance.
10

Safety and follow-up

Breast surgery requires a hospital setting, a complete pre-operative evaluation and long-term follow-up. Implants are not lifetime devices and may need revision over time. Identifying risk factors supports appropriate selection and complication prevention.

11

Recovery

Recovery depends on the procedure and the individual. Results settle gradually as tissues adjust.

  • Wear the surgical bra or compression band as prescribed.
  • Initial discomfort and swelling decrease progressively.
  • Resume light activities according to your progress and medical advice.
  • Return to exercise gradually during follow-up.
12

Individual pricing

Prices are not published online because they depend on the procedure, implant type, approach, operating time, and hospital and team fees. A personalized estimate is provided after consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Information for your decision

Which procedures are included in breast surgery?+

Augmentation with implants, a breast lift (mastopexy), reduction and combinations. The appropriate option is decided during your consultation.

Which implant type is best?+

There is no universally best implant. Silicone often feels more like natural tissue, while saline rupture is usually apparent through deflation. The choice depends on anatomy, goals and follow-up preferences.

Can I have a breast lift without implants?+

Yes. Mastopexy can reposition the breast without increasing volume. It can be combined with an implant when additional volume is also desired.

Is reduction only cosmetic?+

No. It may also aim to relieve back, neck and shoulder discomfort associated with larger breasts.

How is implant rupture detected?+

Saline implant deflation is usually visible. Silicone rupture may be unnoticed, which makes long-term medical follow-up important.

Will scars be noticeable?+

Scars depend on the procedure and approach. Options such as a transaxillary incision avoid scars on the breast itself; advantages and limitations are discussed in consultation.

Are implants permanent?+

No. Implants may require revision or replacement over time. Long-term follow-up is recommended.

How are patient experiences shared?+

Testimonials and cases are shared responsibly with permission and respect for patient privacy. Results vary from person to person.

How much does breast surgery cost?+

The cost depends on the procedure, implant, approach, operating time, and hospital and team fees. An estimate is provided after evaluation.
